Sponsored Practice 2008 - Raising funds to preserve the Tobin Music System

The Tobin Music Trust, and our current project

The Tobin Music Trust was established in September 2005, with the brief of preserving, protecting, and promoting the Tobin Music System worldwide. One of the main focuses of the trust at the moment is raising £40,000 to fund the development of 10 DVD's and 10 teaching books, so that future generations can access and continue to benefit from quality music education.

Practice is the only way to improve, so we are running a sponsored practice event. This is a great way to nurture good practice habits and discipline. You can only get better by practicing; there is no magic formula. Making music also helps children to develop key literacy and numeracy skills, so there is a lot to gain by getting involved in this event.

You can discuss with your parents or teacher a suitable amount of time to devote to practice each day during a 2 week period. It might be 10 minutes a day if you are a very young beginner, or over an hour a day if you are more acomplished.

Submitting your forms

Download and fill in the sponsorship form, and ask an adult to tick off each day you have practiced. Tell your family and friends about the sponsored practice and ask them to support you.

Once you have completed the 2 weeks, collect money from your sponsors and send it with your form to your teacher, so that it can be sent off to the Tobin Music Trust. Alternatively, you can send cheques and forms to the Tobin Music Trust at the address listed below:
